Stories. We all have them. They are an important part of our culture, through movies, books, word of mouth, social media, and especially our own memories. They are a vehicle for our history; how we learn it or remember it.
But what happens when we get lost in our story? When we form an attachment to it, and it becomes a crutch? When we hold onto our story – our past, we bring it into the present. The problem with this is we then create a present like our past. This is when, as a person, or a collective group, we become stuck. Paralyzed, unable to more forward, our lives fail to meet our core values and reach our goals.
What about the past are you holding onto? How does that story make you feel and what is the benefit of holding onto it? Would you lose your identity if you let go, or would you gain better clarity of who you really are today, right now, in this moment? Would you discover the beauty, peace and perfection in the present moment?
