Appreciation isn’t always our natural state of mind.
It’s easy to focus on the things we don’t have, the things we want. It’s convenient to lose sight of all the blessings in our lives, to live in a lack mindset. Whether around money, time, health, career or love, we often get distracted by what is missing in our lives and not appreciate where we are and what we have.
We will always be in the gap, in-between where we are and what we want. The moment we gain what it is we desire, another desire is right on the heals of the last one. Such is the fact of life. Yet so much suffering is caused by being in the gap. We must learn to navigate the gap with a greater sense of appreciation and joy for the adventure we call life in order not to suffer.
Suffering is caused by being out of balance in the gap, in the valley of wanting what we don’t yet have. Focusing on what we don’t have keeps what we desire at bay longer. When we settle into the space of appreciation for all that we have, all that we’ve become and experienced, we set into motion our desires. They being to draw nearer to us.
Appreciation is key to maintaining balance in the gap. This can be difficult at first because we want what we want and we want it now. And that’s okay… until it gets in the way.
Letting go of holding on tight to your desire and willing it to happen is essential in bringing about our desire.
When we hold on too tight we block our desire from manifesting. By appreciating what has already come to pass we are opening the floodgates to receiving what we desire. It is that simple and that challenging if our minds are trained to focus on the lack it requires us to change that habit.
Our power is in our mind. Utilize the mind on purpose to focus on the positive and results will follow.
